Explore writing as a tool for wellbeing and create space for your writing practice with support from like-minded souls.


Join me and Ben Powell for a six-week Writing for Wellbeing series exploring the theme of connection: connection to ourselves, others and our environment.

No experience necessary and you don’t have to be a ‘writer’! Just bring your curiosity and your favourite pen.

Who’s it for?

Writing for Wellbeing is open to anyone over the age of 18. We aim to be fully inclusive and welcome people from minority communities, including LGBTQ+ folks, neurodivergent souls and people who are disabled.

  • In a previous life did you do a lot of writing but over time you’ve lost your way?

  • Maybe you love the idea of journalling but don’t know where to start?

  • Perhaps sitting with pen and paper is your happy place but you struggle to find the time in your busy life?

  • Are you feeling disconnected and looking for a way to reconnect with yourself?

  • Are you looking for new ways to improve your wellbeing?

  • Maybe you are ace at making time for your writing but crave the company of others?

Whatever your reason or your story, we invite you to a safe space where you can focus on you, writing and your wellbeing.


What to expect?

  • A non-judgemental space where you can make connections with yourself, others and your environment

  • Meaningful discussions with a small group of like-minded, supportive people

  • A space for reflection and personal inquiry

  • A range of activities exploring different mediums for your words

  • A combination of prompts to get you started and freer activities where you can go with the flow

  • Opportunities to write at beautiful Hamworthy Beach

Meet your facilitators

  • Sarah Rayment


    Sarah is a wellbeing and blue health coach, writer, wild swimmer and seaweed enthusiast. She loves creating and facilitating spaces where people can be themselves.

  • Ben Powell


    Ben is a father to five, coach and tutor and has lived a large proportion of his life in South America. He is also an occasional fair-weather paddleboarder and writer when he gets the chance.

When & where

Our winter sessions are based at The Power House in Hamworthy, with opportunities to use outdoor spaces, including the beach. Due to popular demand we are running two groups:

Monday evenings 7.30-9pm: 23 Feb to 30 March

Thursday afternoons 1.30-3pm: 26 Feb to 2 April

How much?

We want our space to be as accessible as we can make it so Writing for Wellbeing: Making Connections is just £55 for the six-week series. Hope to see you there!
